TIPS: Prices will be high for very RARE items. When rare items become more available their prices will fall and may never recover (as in the case of Blue Racial Motifs, Housing furniture recipes or Gold level Festival Prizes). Conversely, very available items will have a low sales prices on average, however, circumstances can change an item's worth. For instance, if someone really needs a normally available item quick, you may be able to get a bonus amount over and above the regular average price...but only if they advertise for said item! (This is often called Haggling but sometimes a player will willingly throw in a bonus if they have the need and spare coin.) So, be vigilant of these chat requests, they will fatten your coin purse.
As I've mentioned earlier, you can drive prices down by purchasing a regularly high value item when someone sells it in the G-Store at throw-away prices. For instance, I once bought a Gold, Festival Prize selling for 2,500g at a knock-out G-Store price of 300g! However, I watched the average price instantly plummet to 1,840g in MM! I stopped when I saw the price falling frighteningly low, thinking I would never be able to sell them for 2,500g again. I was wrong, as those prices only reflected in my 5 Guild Stores and NOT across all of Tamriel. So, my advice now is, buy up all these rock-bottom basement priced items and then turn them all around with a hefty profit – it's easy Gold!
